Boat, Bus & Train (Norway in a Nutshell - Part 2)

Today we went from Flam to Bergen by boat, bus & train

It was amazing!!! Honestly it was like we were in the pages of a tourist brochure or a movie, even if we had picked one of the 280/365 days it rained. You can not describe the majestic giant folds of the fjord mountains, the houses & farms perched on top of mountains where you wonder how they got there or the crazy goats that call the Fjords home. Enough words pictures will be better......

Norway in a a Nutshell - Part 1

Today we encountered the large lens Nikons posed and iPad ready tourists, yup you know the ones I'm talking about, they have the sound track of snap snap snap snap, yup were in tourist country now!

Such a hard day......we sat on the train and watched Norway from the window, it was hard I wanted to read on my iPad (good book) but I also just wanted to stare out the window. We traveled from Oslo to Myrdal before changing to the Flam Railway, when you weren't going through tunnels the scenery was unbelievable! After sitting on the train for three quarters of the day a hike sounded like a great idea roughly 8kms later not a great idea. We started by heading to a waterfall, after entering a field and starting the climb we gave up about a third up, so well the church was pretty let's go there ..... Let's just say we're happy to have our feet up in the hotel.

So glad we did these ships have been recovered longer than Dalwallinu has been settled, there age well there ancient and amazing, well worth a visit.

While we were on the island we decided we had time to visit another museum so we chose the Fram Museum, you walk in and you are confronted with a big ship, again amazing, wish we had had more time.

We had booked a cycling tour of Oslo with Viking Biking before we left, whose stupid idea was that? Oh wait mine! Bet I'll be paying for it tomorrow, the bike was not my Malvern Star. The tour was great we saw old & new, from water to the land & in between alot of undressed statues.

Buskers & Beggers

They're everywhere in the street wanting money, some are painted metallic pretending to be statues, making ballon animals, selling magazines, they've got a little jazz band. They ask for money in signs written in English, they want to cash to fix there deformed feet, they don't have any kids nor are they Ill they just money for beer (love there honestly), but my favourite .... Money needed for travel. The further into our trip we go the more beggers & buskers we see.

Bit of a rest day six hours on the train, reading & watching the world pass by. We arrived in Oslo mid afternoon and decided to explore the city centre. There was the Palace, City Hall, Cathedral, there are so many buildings to look at but the favourite The Opera House, a steep climb but worth it for the view.

We also met some locals, they didn't provide much conversation though
