Beer, Fire & Ice 2015 Wrap Up

So home again, plotting & planning the next trip as always.

The last few days in England were a cloud of fog literally, one day you couldn't see far at all. We braved the fog one night to take a trip to the cinema to see the new James Bond movie with the gang.

Anyone wanting to visit Iceland I can not recommend Tour.IS enough, we picked a tour package (car hire, accomodation and basic plan) and added extra days without any hassles, they took care of everything including my stupid questions.
Tour.is
(We did BP17 - Iceland Circle including Snaefellsnes - 10 days with an extra day in Snaefellsnes area)

Last day in Reykjavik

So today I went flying, swimming, boating, suba diving, kayaking, saw a volcano erupt, went under a waterfall oh who I kidding I went to the cinema & those that know me know how I hate kayaking! I went and saw the 360 degree cinema experience at the Harpa so technically I really did do all those things just sitting working out which side of the room I should look at.

The rest of my day involved chilling with a book, making sure things fitted in my backpack (positive I've lost things along the way there seems to be more room) and one last explore of the city by foot.

I did manage to get up the tower at Hallgrimskirkja before they closed it where I had a great view of roof tops.

Our hotel is the white building on the right, right in front of the hotel so much so looking out our window I feel like offering to take people's photos.

Last night Birte & I braved the rain (wasn't heavy just annoying) to do a tour out to Videy Island to see the Peace Tower (if your here when it's lit it's a must do) didn't get too many photos because of the rain

Out and about in Reykjavik

Again the weather is grey & wet, but since when did that stop us........ Today we took a trip to the wild side, ok really we went to the zoo. It was nice to see the Icelandic domestic animals up close but other than that it wasn't too exciting.

We stepped through nature (& in some kindly left behind deposits from the ducks) as we strolled through the beautiful botanical gardens. The down side everything is labeled (not so bad) but the labels are a but of visual pollution & kind of over power the plants.

Coffee & cake at the top of the Perlan was a nice way to hide from the weather

I stepped inside Hallgrimskirkja instead if admiring it from our window, the beauty is mostly on the outside of the building. However I timed my visit well as they seemed to be practicing playing the giant organ, it was interesting to sit & watch.

Here's hoping the weather passes Birte & I are off to see the Imagine Peace Tower on Videy Island tonight, we have timed our visit well as it will be lit up.

When Harry met Christie

Again the weather was grey, overcast, with the odd shower but that didn't stop me, I set out on foot exploring Reykjavik. I walked around the lake, visited City Hall, stumbled across the Catholic Church, made it to the Old Harbour and back again.

We were lucky enough to see them two nights ago at the farm and they were AMAZING!!! The best out of the three times we saw them. They danced slowly so we had a good chance to capture them.

Today will be a bit boring for you all we went souvenir shopping, there's a lot of souvenir shops & I think we visited everyone. There's a Puffin or Viking store on just about every corner than the gaps are filled with other random shops.

We did however do some sightseeing but the weather is grey so the photos aren't great
The church opposite our hotel (can't remember or spell the name) and it does have a filter on so it looks better than it did
