Angkor Wat

4.40am wake to see this

Sunrise at Angkor Wat

Group shot at Angkor Wat

Our local guide showed us around the temple as we got our daily workout up & down steps, even got to see monkies.

A break for breaky before heading back out to visit Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm also in the Angkor park.

Quiet afternoon before one last family dinner, most people continue on there travels or head home Saturday, me I'm lucky enough to have another day which I might just use to chill

Decided to visit the Grand Palace in Phnom Penh this morning, tagged along with some others from the group in a guided tour was interesting.

A 40min flight mostly over Tonle Sap Lake which we later took a cruise on to see a floating village. A little but if a disappointment actually but it is low season for the lake. The exciting but was the "pirates" felt a bit like a scene out of a Pirates of the Carribean, there you are casually cruising along & next thing you know the kids from the boat that just went past us on your boat trying to sell you drinks. At one point we had boats with snakes on either side & you can't help but want to give these people money, you see the way they live & it's worlds apart from our lives.

Tomorrow is the bug day, what we've all been waiting for.....no not the end (not ready for that is there a life outside this trip? Continuing on & redoing Vietnam has crossed my mind) .....it's Angkor Wat!!! 5am leave I'm not looking forward to but it's so going to be worth it.

A Moving Day

Only in South East Asia can a walk along the rivers edge at 8am cause you to drip sweat. And I can repeat it tomorrow in Cambodia instead of Laos.

So we took a midday flight to Phnom Penh (can scratch Cambodia off the map now) love hour long flights even if it is a bit bumpy & the food lets not discuss the food......why must everything have banana in?

Cambodia is meant to be worse weatherwise, we've sweated buckets inThailand & Laos, here we were sweating 44's!! But the rain did come & cooled us down for a whole five minutes.

We visited the Killing Fields, they don't have the money the excavate all the bones so they come up every time it rains. They're just lying there, some piled up, others not yet all the way to the surface, you try not to walk on them but I must say ashamedly I think I walked on some.

The Genoside museum was chilling, you walked through cells I guess, so many faces with numbers, all very sad. We were lucky to met one of the two living survivors, such a happy chap.

Experienced the street kids (ironically on our way to dinner at Friends a place set up to give the street kids skills) this one girl 10 if that hassled us outside our hotel. She was feisty and conned a lot of the boys to play Rock Paper Scissors so they would buy her braided bracelets, she was pretty quick to call anything that looked like cheating yet she was the biggest chest of all.
